the injector problem (i believe) is coming from an 87 ford f150 with the 5.0 liter motor. the truck ran good from tucson to vail (a 42 mile treck). when my friend was headin home, about 1/2 mile from my house it just died comepletely. i replaced the fuel filter since it was completely clogged and tried to fire the motor but the motor wouldnt kick over. fuel makes it to and through the filter and makes it to the fuel rail since i tested for fuel volume and pressure from the pressure testing nipple on the return side of the rail. this is why i believe it is an injector problem. hope this info helps in any way.

there is no computer in the truck, just an inline fuse that was replaced, not by me. since the truck had a problem with the inline fuse before and wouldnt kick over, would the inline fuse be the problem as well? if so where in the truck is it?

Oh, is this ever a familiar problem on this vintage of a Ford. It's almost a sure bet that the ignition module on the side of the distributor died. Whenever you have a no start condition, you should first test to see if you have spark to the spark plugs. Then you will kmow if it's an ignition problem or a fuel delivery problem, barring any major internal mechanical breakdowns that is. If you have no spark, you will need a SPECIAL tool to remove the ignition module from the side of the distributor. You can have the module tested at most auto parts stores beings it has completely died. Hopefully you can find that special tool there also. That's my best guess at your problem. Good luck.

guys i tested once again for fuel pressure and volume and nothing came out of the test nipple. not even an escape of air. i believe i have found teh problem at least with fuel. ive done my homework and found out that this truck has 3 fuel pumps. 2 intank low pressure pumps and a high pressure pump mounted on the left frame rail. i believe the high pump has died. is there a way to test the pump?

ok problem has been fixed. the truck has 2 fuel pump relays and 1 is dead and the other has power goin in and out of it. i switched the relays since the r the same and the tuck got fue pressure right to the motor. after a quick jump since the battery died the motor kicked right over. i will have the owner get 2 new relays to avert the other relay from dyin on him. i also saw teh ford emblem on the relays. just great 2 324000+ mile old relays. got to love the care this truck was given.
