Hello everyone I have been hanging out in the Honda side of the board. Anyway, I have had a problem lately with my 2005 Taurus 3.0 v6. Sometimes when Im pumping the gas the pump will shut off like its full. Ill have to keep pressing in on the trigger/nozzle several times for the fuel to kick back in. This has done this several times and very sporadically*sp.

Thanks for any help:banghead:

It sounds like the air is being trapped in your tank and won't burp out until the gas flow stops. Try pumping gas with the car facing downhill and/or the car leaning downhill away from the fill. Try pumping the whole tank or at least close to the end at the slowest setting. Check to be sure that the fill line and vent line have not shifted or collapsed. Make sure the tank hasn't shifted. It doesn't seem likely there would be an obstruction in those lines, but kids and pranks do happen. Have any enemies?

There have been a few others on this forum with similar complaints. Use the "Search this forum" feature from the Taurus forum main page.

It seems like this would probably be related to the vapor vent/purge valve. You may want to get the codes pulled. If you have access to a scan tool that can give you the PIDs and CIDs, check those for concerns related to the vapor management.

Also, your Taurus should still be in warranty, right? If so, run the question past the dealer.
