P1646 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Control Circuit
I'm not too sure, but there must be a bad solenoid, or a wiring fault. Consult a service manual.

i looked in the service manual, cant find anything in there that explains it,and the dealer wants way too much to just look at it,cost me $4000 to have the motor put in,they just cant figure why and what the code is,they had it for a week trying to figure it out.anyone else have any ideas, from what i was told, its not gonna make the car run bad or anything,i just dont want the service engine light on,and i would really like to have the problem fixed,i just cant afford the 55 dollars an hour for a mechanic to try and figure it out, kind of low on money after the engine, and i really dont want to drive it until someone can figure out what i should do,thanks in advance if anyone can figure it out, thanks steve

Its a Evap Vent Solenoid DTC as previously stated and its really a very simple circuit and should be hard at all to fix. It could be a fuse, one of 2 wires, the solenoid itself, or the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). ANY Cadillac dealer tech could figure it out. If you still need help let me know. I'll help walk ya through it.
