OK, so you probably know me with my thread SLR McLaren. Here's another Mercedes from me. I hope you will comment a bit more, I know you are doing better, but I'm trying. :p

I don't have much reference photos, so if someone has some, please link them.

wow,

that cockpit looks amazing, very clean

can't wait to see what the engine will look like

the only flaw I see is the kill switch decal on the dash looks like it was ripped in the corner

It's just Tamiya XF-16 and X-18 mixed together.

So, this weekend I did small update on engine. I've cutted ugly plastic from exhaust collectors, add springs and weathered it. I've also did shock absorbers and made a blackwash on the engine block and heat shield.

Stay brutal

Nice work. I probably just missed this, but where did you get the heat shielding material you used on the firewall?

Joe Blyth - Model Factory Hiro has good heat shield material. I got some from Strada Sports.

Mrak: -
Two questions:
- what did you use for the seatbelt materials?
- where do you get those awesome springs for the exhaust?

I am really liking this build!
This inspires me to tackle one of these.

Heat shield is from Hiroboy, Usually all the parts are from Hiroboy. But some plastic kits are from our dealer in Slovenia (EU), becouse if he knows, that we are buying then on ebay or anywhere else, he gets angry. LOL  . 1 week ago I have bougth 2 Autoart CLK DTM on ebay for 5€ and Tamiya 1:12 Bimota Tesi 1D for also 5€ .

Seatbelt materials I got with PE parts also from Hiroboy, It's some kind of carton. It's great value. Try it once.

Spring are also from Hiroboy. Just type "muffler springs" in Hiroboy search.

BWT: Thanks for feetback.

If you live in the USA some of the craft stores sell foil with that pattern on in rolls. It's in the cake decorating section. I guess they lay cakes on it. It's only about $6.00 dollars a roll.
