No horn or cruise control. Using the owners manual and Haynes manual I checked fuses and swapped common relays aroiund with no change to the problem. I took the big step and changed the clock spring assembly yesterday and unfortunately no change to the problem.
So i'm thinking there is a fuse or relay that is bad and I am checking the wrong one or I have a bad ground.
A reman tranny was put in back in April and wondering if something was knocked loose then. Not really sure when it stopped working. Not much of a horn blower.

Welcome to the forum!

Since the clockspring was already replaced, assuming you replaced the correct one (not sure if there's only one in your '04), maybe you have a problem with the Digital Transmission Range Sensor. These have been known to cause all sorts of electrical issues in the Taurii of the '90s. Haven't read a lot about these being problems in the 04s, but someone has to be the first. :(

You can use the "Search this forum" feature from the Taurus forum main page to search for Transmission Range Sensor to see if other have symptoms like what you are experiencing.

Thanks Rod. I had read some of your others posts and was hoping I would hear from you. Your suggestion on the transmission range sensor kinda ties in since the last major repair was having a remanufactured tranny back in April of 07. I believe the range sensor sits on top of the bell housing and was part of the reman tranny. I don't recall using the cruise after that until December on a trip to Florida. Its probably time to check with the dealer since the tranny came with a 3 year warranty and hopefully that part is covered. Thanks again.
