ok so i put a front mounted intercooler on my car.. and after taking the fog lights out and hooking up the intercooler and everything back together, i try turning my lights on and nothing happens.. i do notice if i turn the interior light on with the key OFF it will work, but as soon as i turn it on the lights goes out.. do u think taking the fog lights out caused the problem? or a short somewhere or something? please help me out its annoying me so bad.. thank u

1) By interior light you mean the lights above to illuminate the inside of the car right?
2) As soon as you turn the car on the dome lights shut off?
3) What lights did you say at first that didin't work? Just your ints or your headlights too (which you only mentioned in the title?)

yea sorry about the bad explanation.. heres what is hapeneing.. i put a front mount in the car.. after i reinstalled the bumper cover. i hooked the battery back up, the lights worked.. but then acouple days later i went to turn them on and nothing works, dash, parking, headlights everything.. BUT the blinkers, reverse, and brake lights work when pressing the brake of turn signals.. all the fuses are good.. and there is NO power to the dimmer switch, (i read some ppl changed the dimmer swithc and it fixed everything). and there is a thing of wires that comes out of the fuse box under the hood, i tried moving the wires around and all of a sudden the fan turned on.. so i think there might be a bad ground somewhere or something..

Was the car turned on when the fan came on?

the key was on but the car was off. and BOTH fans come on.

Ok, well your blinkers, reverse, brakes, and pigtails i believe are on the tailamp circuit. My guess would be to take a look at (again) the headlight fuse. That would explain the why the other outside lights don't work.

Your cluster lights might be out cause your dimmer switch might have blown. If you are able to jump the wires i would go ahead and do it to rule out the switch.

And for the fans coming on, you said the key was in ON position right? Not the ACC position, which would not cut the AC on. Having the the AC left on and turning the key to the ON position will turn on both fans and open the thermostat.
NOT to say these are reasons or solutions, just giving you some ideas as to what it might be. Try them out, hopefully you can fix some problems.

alright thanks, i was looking around today and i noticed that my raditor has been leaking and there is absolutly no fluid in it and i noticed a sensor in the botom of the radiator, would that turn the fans on? cause i have the ac off. and i checked out the dimmer switch and there is NO power getting to it.. and double checked the fuses, and they are all good.

Well that's as far as I can go. My 2g radiator does not have any sensors on it. CAn you snap a pic of the sensor? And the dimmer being starved......man i can't think other than tracing back your wires. Have you tried jumping the wires together for the dimmer?

no i havent tried jumping the wires yet.. i just unplugged the dimmer and tested for power with a test light.. but i will try jumping the wires. and i will take some pics of the sensor because i am replacing the radiator today after work.

Do you know if your alternator is any good?

yea the alternator is good. battery is in good condition. everything is working properly. but i also noticed that my radio does not save the memory.. and it was saving before i did the work on the front mount. but now it isnt. along with the parking lights gauges and headlights.

Maybe your red primary wire has a blown fuse. That would expain your memory problem.

I'm still convinced its a blown relay. Then again you have 1G, lol. I'm not familiar with the wiring. I'm gonna review your wiring and see what i can come up with.

***EDIT***
Damn it, I could find anything for your car online. Is there someplace you know of online where I can go and check it out.

Well you should look under the hood and look fotr a fuse box. Usually black with white writing on it. Don't kow if your 1st generation has a fuse for your interior lights though.

yea the first gen fuse box is near the steering colum and there is a fuse for the accesories and dome light and stuff.. so check all the fuses there

Yeah but that component would be under the hood fuse box.

once again, i was messing around with the lights tody. still not working. but i noticed that when i turn the head light switch on, i can hear the relay click on and off. but the lights still wont work.. and the fuses are good. and i also noticed that when the lights worked, the radio's memory worked, and ever since the lights stopped working, the radio's memory will not work. so i think its somethign with the power side. but all the fuses and relays are good

I have no clue, I really can't think of anything else it might be.
