Completed Project! Imai Beetle with motor (8 PICS)COZMO6476 02-20-2003, 10:32 PM Hi everyone, here are some pics of my most recently completed project. Its a VW Beetle made by Imai. i got the model off ebay and its the first and only Imai model i've ever worked with. no where near the quality of a tamiya kit but still decent. the model was originally made to use a motor. the kit didnt come with a motor but i had an extra one that i picked up from tiny imports a while back. you can see the wheels in action in the last picture. The kit is mostly stock with the exception of the rims, motor and a slight lowering job. it wasn't the easiest project i've built but im happy with the end result. comments & thoughts are always welcome. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/251080DSCN2403.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/971613DSCN2404.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/744730DSCN2405.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/451407DSCN2406.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/740620frontangle.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/614327rearangle.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/816116batteries.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/593379spinning.JPG As a bonus, ive added a photo of my current project. its a tamiya beetle with opening doors and "trunk", a pseudo RSI front and rear and Wings west side accents. its a hodge podge of mods but i like it. let me know what you think so far. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/439212preview.JPG COZMO6476 02-20-2003, 10:35 PM by the way, the using the motor to watch the model run across the floor is a big mistake. i tried it without the body on and it slammed into a wall. Oh well. the good news is that the model can be used to sand down tires for other kits. it works like a dream! safer than my dremel!
