So yeah, theres a high probability that my engine has "ceased" on my 1995 Oldsmobile.. But thats not important. What I need to know is about how much would it cost to get that fixed? Thanks..

**Note** I guess I should also mention that my oil was leaking apparently and that the engine wont turn either.. =/

What motor does your cutlass have ????????

Probly not worth fixing , better off buying a used motor.

and welcome to AF.

I actually don't know.. All I know is that it's a v6 engine.. I know like, nothing about cars =S

If I were to buy a used motor, how much do you think that would cost and about how much to have it put in? Thanks.

Depends where you live, $200-800 for a 3.1 and about the same for install.

Best bet is to call around to your local salvage yards and see what they have available. You would also want an engine close to the same year as your Olds, 94-96.
You might run into troubles with sensors being in different locations or connectors different.

What kind of troubles? And how long do you think the car would last for? I just don't wanna put in $650 for the engine, and another $650 for the labor and then be out of money AND a car =/

If you treat your engine right and change the oil every 3000-4000 miles it should last a realy long time.

I just sold my daughters 95 Cutlass, had a 3.1 with over 280,000 miles on it and it still runs strong.

This site is good for finding stuff!

Also your 95 could have either a 3.1 or 3.4, without knowing that its guess work.
Looking at the top of the motor says what it is.
