This is the Nissan Skyline R32 GTR, as launched in 1989, it immediately won praise by motorsports enthusiasts. The Skyline is powered by a race-designed 2.6 litre in-line 6 cylinder engine equipped with two ceramic turbochargers and intercoolers producing 280 bhp. It has a variable torque-split 4-wheel-drive train and a 4-wheel-steering system. The racing version of this car recorded countless victories

The R32 GT-R (Godzilla as it was/is affectionately known) was THE car that pissed off the narrow-minded majority of motor racing fans here in Australia so much that the rule books were written to outlaw them and replace them with V8 engined, bewinged family sedans. This car was totally dominant during the 1991 season, winning virtually every race in the Australian touring car championship. In 1992, in response to cries of slowing the GT-Rs down, they were nobbled with both extra weight and turbo boost limits. THEY STILL WON!!! The R32 GT-R's 1991 victory at the summit of Australian motor racing, the Bathurst 1000, was the first by a Japanese car. To this day, it holds the record for winning the Bathurst 1000 in the shortest period of time. The GT-R also won the Bathurst 1000 the following year to the cries of people shouting "We want V8s back!". You may be long gone from Australian motor racing circuits Godzilla, but your legend will never, ever be forgotten!!"

Heh, R32s are also my favorite type of Skyline (and overall favorite car of all time).

Now if I wasn't so poor I might be able to buy one... Ah well. *sigh*

skylines aren't all that great. all they have going for them is AWD.

How can you make such an ignorant, uninformed statement???

there is an endless aftermarket- there is enough on the market to make an RB26DETT put out over 1500bhp- the ATTESSA AWD makes the car a superb handler with plenty of grip and gives an easy launch on the drag-strip. They also look damned fine IMHO.

They also eat Corvettes for breakfast on any track- and in most cases- on the strip as well

The R-34 is definitely my favorite Skyline... It looks the best and, like Jim said, there is an endless aftermarket. I have a dream to drive a 1000+ HP R-34 someday...

Why aren't they great????????? 320bhp Twin Turbo Straight Six mated to all wheel drive with more technology than 30 Corvettes put together??????? Sounds great to me- not to menton they have one of the most stunning bodykits ever- there is also TONS of aftermarket support, they are GREAT to drive- They have endless traction and are blitzingly quick in a straight line

No, no, no. The best skyline is the 1962 Skyline Sport - it's looks kinda like a reconstituted Triumph Herald, that finnally made the cut as an acceptable styling excersice. (and the convertible version is even better)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The car looks like a shoe box. I don't like it. I don't argue about its ability to be a top performer. Thats not the reason why I buy a car. Even if the car were available in the states, I would not buy one.

No offense, but how the hell do you get a shoe box out of a Skyline. Are you referring to all the models, or specifically the R32. I think all of them are nice, especially the R34, and the lines are smooth and flowing, not comparible to a shoebox (Aztec).

If you don't buy a car for it's performance/handling abilities then what do you buy them or???? I wouldn't say styling- considering you have a 5th Gen Accord and Dodge Shadow :finger:

j/p :p

why oh why can't the freaking nissan of america bring the fucking skyline over here???
why oh why can't i have a skyline?
i have to settle with good but crappy cars compared to the skyline...if you look at nissan's lineup the only sports car is the 350, the spec V is trying to be sportish but it really isn't especially if it's a four door, too bad they didn't make a coupe version.
why can't we all just make a petition and make nissan bring the R32 and 34 over here???
i know the skyline is coming over here in 05 but still, it's not going to look anything like the skylines of yore....why oh why didn't they bring it over here???
i think i'll go to a corner now and cry...
:crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
