'89 Dodge Daytona DetailsSpoiler 02-20-2003, 10:53 AM Can anyone give me some basic details for this car? daytonaes93 02-20-2003, 07:42 PM what kind of details are u lookin for i drive a 93 daytona es Spoiler 02-20-2003, 08:46 PM Some basic stuff really Horse Power? MPH? Turbo? Basically, I just wanna know how fast this car is, because one of my boys is always talking shit about it because he owns one. Yet, because he sucks at stick, he doesn't drive it. So instead of me going around looking at sites, I decided to just at here. My look at the car, after just hearing it, i think it has power, but I want to know to what extent. I didn't look under the hood or anything, but I know he hasn't done any work on it. So I just want to know what's good with this car. Polygon 02-20-2003, 10:04 PM Well, in 1989 you had the option for a 2.5L I4 with a non-intercooled turbo running 150HP and 210 ft/lbs of torque or you could get the 2.2L I4 with an intercooled turbo that produced 174HP and 200 ft/lbs of torque. I have a 1989 LeBaron GTC that could run in the mid 14s stock and mid to low 6s from 0-60. I also found that the GTC ran more around 205HP and 225 ft/lbs of torque to the wheels, but 174/200 is the factory specs, but I have found that Chrysler lies a lot about such numbers, they seem to underrate a lot of cars. The GTC is the same thing as a Daytona Turbo Z with the Turbo II. If it has the turbo II is is a damn fast car and is nothing to be laughed at. Check out the Dodge Garage (http://www.thedodgegarage.com) they have a lot of info about these engines and what not. Also you can check out my two GTC to learn about them as well. daytonaes93 02-22-2003, 03:34 PM i would say listen to polygon he knows his stuff more than me anyway especially when it comes to turbos my 93 es is about 140-145hp and around 175 180 ftlbs of torque right nowbut i still have more to do to it 0-60 im runnin about 7.5sec and i havent ran 1/4 mile yet but im guessing low 16s maybe right now im shootin for at least mid 14s when im done vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
