Few pics of the blown turbo. Anyone here have experience with PTE's rebuild service? How long should I expect to get the turbo back?

How did you like that turbo on your stroker set up? That one is only oil cooled right?

It was a great turbo made close to 500whp on pump gas with only 21 lbs of boost and had a pretty good spooling time. Yup.... only oil lines

I've been considering a SCM series turbo from PTE for my stroker as well and all I read is good things about them being the "pump gas king". When do you see full spool at? And did you have to dent your waterpipe? I read they updated the design to not have to do this.

It's like condoms for your fingers...o.o

Hope you get your turbo fixed sooner better than later.

Just got off the phone with Matt at PTE. Says that my turbo has major contamination in the oil and that they have to basically rebuild/replace my entire center section.
Then he said that the warranty will cover all of it. I was speechless! Getting it all rebuild for FREE!!!!!!!! Wow....THANKS PTE!

He said they are going to do everything they gotta this week and ill have it back for Tuesday next week. Can’t wait to unleash the ponies again!

What about your engine?

What about your engine?

Getting the block back from the machine shop on monday....
I have everything I need to rebuild except for a new timing belt.
She'll be back together in no time.

Here is another problem I have though. Right before it took a dump on me, I had it dyno tuned. Since I am replacing the broken parts with the same parts (new) basically, can I reuse the tune? I really dont want to be forking out another $600+ on a EMS tune again. Any ideas anyone? or do i have no choice?

I would assume that you can use the same general tune, if you're putting in the same parts. Maybe later on you'll want to get it tuned to the max, but for now your car should run just fine on what it was set at.
