swap 2.5 for a 305 h.p

i have a 91 s10 with a 2.5 i also have a 86 trans am 305 h.p five speed I was woundering how hard it would be to put the 305 in the s10 would it work farly easy and can some body give me a round about figure on how much it would cost. I plan on doin the work myself. also would i be able to use the trans clutch out of the 86 in the s10. thanks for any help.

You can do pretty much anything if you have a welder and a set of torches but you also need to know what to do with them.
So basicly if you have to ask you should pay a buddy to do it.

IF(i don't know for sure) the mounting locations are same, then is a direct drop in. if not, then an adapter kit for the mounts is needed, or make them yourself. could always find an experienced welder to take all measurments and so on and have him/her make the mounts for you. after that, wiring would be the hardest part it seems.

I am wondering if he can swap slave cylinders and get the 5 speed to work. he will have to use the v8 trans because the bellhousing and clutch is different, or go automatic. I would be surprized if the slave cylinder is the same, I never checked.
