problem aiming headlights

I installed some used headlight....last year...and never really got them aimed right. The passenger side one seems ok, but the drivers side is causing some trouble. Whenever I would turn the 'knob' to adjust it, nothing would happen...it feels/sounds like the threads or whatever they are are stripped. I've tried aiming this light so many times that finally I somehow broke the head (where you insert the tool to adjust it). Is there any other way to aim these lights or is it likely stuck where it is? thanks!

if the threads were already stripped, then it is stuck where it is. you might be able to find another used headlight assy somewhere.

darn! that's what I was fearing. I guess they aren't too expensive though....$15 at the j/y. I was looking for an excuse to go there anyway. thanks for the reply

no prob...take a screwdriver or whatever you used to try and aim that one and test replacement out before buying.

good idea. thanks!
metal adjust screws threaded into plastic get tight, and break, least take some penetrating oil with you and use it as you try to loosen them up, no sense forcing stuck ones and ruining another light when with a little paticence, they will come loose.
