This is my current WIP. Studio 27's 550 Maranello from the 2005 Le Mans. The casting on the body is beautiful, very detailed and crisp. However. Im not overly happy with the fitment of the rear wheels. The wheels rub up against the rear package shelf/inner wheel well. Also, the wheel openings weren't large enough and I had to make them larger.

Sorry for the lack of and crappy pic. I just got my camera and needless to say Im not a very good photographer. Something else I need to work on.

Anyways, here's a pic of it painted.

I somehow managed to put a rather large ding in the door, you might be able to see it in the pic. So it's since been sanded out and the body is getting repainted.

One question on this kit:

Are there fuelfiller pipes inside of the car? The, one on each side, pipes located on the back of the driver, inside of the car where the full goes to the tank. I haven't seen these on any picture yet of the Studio27 550 LM kit.

Hi, been interested in this resin kit for quite some time.
say, would you mind showing all the parts, give some brief pro/con comments on it?

is the body thick?
is it possible to cut-out doors & hood?
are there any under-carriage details?
decent suspension?
p/e fret pics?
decals from cartograph?

thankx!:loser:

If I remember right the I do believe the decals were Cartograph and if not they are very good quaility. I've been decaling the car up and have had no issues as of yet with the decals. They are thick enough to have some strengh to them to allow for Microsol to soften them up for the vents on the hood nicely. the rest of the decals are all pretty straight forward no complex shapes and they come off the backing quickly and have adhered well.

The body is awesome, it is somewhat thick in the doors and hood so opening might or might not be possible, pending on your skill level.....I choose to pass... The roof is quite thin as are the A and B pillars. And the bottom of the car where the chassis slides in is very thick. The only fitment issue I have had thus far is the wheel wells (openings) aren't big enough for the tires. I had to sand them out some but didnt was do get too carried away and change the over all shape too much.. There is no undercarriage detail, just a big solid piece of resin for the interior and chassis, like most resin kits.

There is no suspension detail, two metal axles is all. The brakes and rims are white metal as is the roll cage and seat and steering wheel and colum. The dash and centre consol are resin and thats about it for detail. White metal door inserts. There is no carbon fibre decals with the kit, though I will be adding CF to mine along with some wiring.

Hope to have some pics by the weekend....I got sucked into a Ninja ZX-RR and can't seem to get away from it....oh well

Yes, they are white metal parts that mount to the rear deck of the interior tub and bent up towards the window. The exterior filler detail is a decal applied to the outside window.

I painted the car TS-8 Italian Red straight from the can over a Tamiya white primer. The original pic I posted looks orange but it actually is a nice dark red. I'll get some pics posted Friday or Saturday. Just trying to make some templates for the CF decals right now.

Thank you for the info. No photo showed them (the metal fuelfiller pipes) so far. I was getting anxious Studio 27 pulled a cheap trick, but luckily I was wrong. (2 kits on the way next week :grinyes: )
