Aside from a piece of compression rubber for the latch area that is on it's way (thank you Goliath!), my bumper is officially done as of today! Since I no longer have a big project to work on, can anyone suggest some other heap of rusty metal that I could rebuild? :)

BTW, bring it on Calmini! :D

Now you guys won't have to listen to my whining anymore!

I found a new use for one of the wheel straps from my bike rack. Works great for holding the hi-lift handle. I might need to get more of them for holding my shovel and gas spout. :D

You might want to take the instructions of the handle of your hi-lift jack you poseur! :lol2:

Speaking of which...I have the jack but nothing to attach it to yet. That pretty much makes it useless!

Well you can jack from your rear bumper, but you'll probably need a 60" jack with the new leafs and such.

Too bad Rick stuck you with his tiny one. :D

Uhhh, I don't think we should go down that road! :uhoh:

Chuck wanted a 48" jack!!!! I bought a 60" and it's going on the Surco rack. What kinda jack do you have Schlud? You still want my antenna?

BTW, a 60" jack would stick up above my roofline, which is not a good thing. I'm hoping I never get in a situation where I need to jack my truck up that high, but if I'm doing something that stupid, I'll probably be with someone who has the bigger jack.

I have the 48" and will probably swap the main bar for a 60".

My jack mount runs horizontal to the roof line, so I don't have to worry about clearance.

Don't worry chuck we'll help you out. :D

He can always borrow my 60" jack! Hope my hi-lift attachment for the rack shows up on Wednesday!

If you ever have to use your jack as a winch you will want to have a 60" bar.
I have the 48" and is just makes more work :(

I sent the bushings on Friday, post a picture when you get them on.

We only have red silicone sponge, I figured you wouldn't want to see the red so I bonded some fiberglass over the sponge with some black silicone. Should match the bumper :D . There is a PSA on the back, not sure how it will hold up to environmental conditions. If the PSA doesn't hold I have a way to bond it to the bumper. :D Just let me know.

The pads kick ass! :D I haven't put one on yet, but I will try and get it done tomorrow. They look awesome though and feel like they should have the right "sponginess" factor. I really appreciate you taking the time to make those for me. I'll have to think of a way to repay you! :thinkerg:

I'm glad the bushing will work:)

Post a picture when you can, I'm interested to see how they look. The bushings should hold up for the life of the truck. The PSA might not:confused:

Are they thick enough to stop the bumper from rattling?

:smoka: Philosoper, you should come to the Shamokin run this weekend, if not... your loss:finger:

Argh...it's been raining something fierce tonight so I couldn't put the pad in. I did drench myself putting the new battery in, but it didn't need to stick to soemthing dry! :)

I'll post a picture when I get it done. Sorry 'bout the wait!

Working outdoors on your battery and electrical wires during a rainstorm and lightning. Good plan. :D
