Another S-10 with no heat

So i'm confused on what my problem is. I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer (S-10 series), 2 door with a manual transmission. I have no heat on the interrior of the vehicle (well very little). I have had the engine coolant flushed completely, and the heater core reverse flushed (using a pulsating combination of air and water). The mechanic that did this, took the heater core hose that is closest to the center of my vehicle (I believe the return line) and installed a plastic "T" in it. He did this about 2 weeks ago... And i still dont' have any decent heat.

Today i drove it for over a 1/2 hour. If i worked the truck (highway driving or giving it heavy gas in town) i got luke-warm heat out of the vents... nothign special though. When the truck was not working or when I was sitting at a stoplight, the truck blew cold air. Once I parked I felt the 2 hoses that lead through the firewall to the heater core. One was very warm. It wasn't uncomfortable to hold, but it was quite hot. The other was barely warm/almost cold.

So whats my next step? My mechanic swears that the next thing to do is replace the thermostat. I'm wiling to do this too, but is that the problem? My engine warms up slowly (in my opinion) yet it reaches full operating temperature (near 200F) and stays there. Is there anything else that could be wrong? Should I replace the thermostat? Do I need a new heater core? Was it not flushed out correctly the first time? Is it something completely different? I'm to the point of just replacing stuff, but I don't believe I want to tackle a heater core replacement at this time...

Thanks!

it sounds like the heater core is still plugged. It needs to be cleaned more thouroughly and get it to flow again.
