2000 Expedition 5.4 won't move

My 2000 expedition would not leave the driveway. Engine is running, but when I put it on rewerse, it's like it has no enough power to move up the driveway. It will move one inch but no more. Before it was making whining noise while driving, especially when stopping on lights and accelerating from stop. No noise while on neutral or park. Any ideas. Also while I was trying to move it at some point overdrive started blinking and CES came on.

Check your tranny fluid level.

Sounds like you blew a solenoidn in the tranny:banghead:
Although I really don't know if its something you could change yourself.

Check your tranny fluid level.

I did. It seems to be too high. Could this be a reason?? Car actually did move after I was idleing it for about an hour, when transmission got really hot. Then when it cooled down, same problem. Track won't move again. Any help?? How abbout this fluid? should I drain it?

I've heard of too much fluid being bad but I doubt it will help to drain it.

Pull the transmission dipstick and smell it if it has a burned smell to it a rebuild is probably in order. I changed the shift solenoid on my 1997 with a E40D transmission. At that time the pack of solenoids was around $60.00 and a new filter kit with gasket was around $25.00. This is a job a decent home mechanic can handle.
Your going to pay big money if you go to a shop.

Well, problem is solved. New transmission and new torque converter did the job. Cost me about $1500 plus 8 hours of really heavy work.

Glad to hear that.

I was going to suggest checking the parking brake. ;)
