Is your fuel pump running?

im not sure, im kinda new to the whole car mechanic thing, what would be the easiest way to tell if it is or isn't?

Turn the key to the on position and listen under the rear seat and pay attention. If you can hear current running thru there than you would have a good pump.

What trim? If it's an RS/GS/ESI and you installed the alternator yourself, there's a good chance you wrecked the cranks position sensor, which could explain why it's not starting.

Directly above the oil filter, like 3" up or so.

we did do the altenator ourselves, but the car wouldn't start before that. on the eclipse, where do you find the spot to check fuel pressure. i have a gauge but can't find where to use it.

IIRC, it's either on the top of the fuel rail or somewhere on the end, but don't quote me on that.

It's on the top, I believe closer to the inlet. Sits straight up. May have to move the wire looms out of the way to see it.

i heard nothing under my seat when i turned it on. when i tested the fuel injection pressure, i was getting no pressure at all, and it wouldn't read anything at all

Check your Haynes manual for a fuel pump test procedure.
