High idel when cold

My wife has a 97 grand am with 3.1. When we start the car in the morning it idels at 2000 rpm. When it warms up it stops. We had the return cabel replaced the fule system cleaned and a tune up anyone out there have any ideas??? Would sure apreaciate it. Thanx RPM

Check the engine for a vacuum leak. Sometimes this can be related to the intake manifold gasket. This particular engine has issues with the manifold gaskets going bad. Also there is a possibility of a cracked vacuum line that closes itself off when it gets warm. I would also check and clean the idle air control motor located on the side of the throttle body. It looks like small motor. Remove it and clean it as it can cause idle issues too.
