2002 California International Auto Show *PICS*Jay! 10-12-2001, 03:46 AM I took all these pictures yesterday. The show is in Anaheim, California. It ends Sunday. I would be a poor photojournalist... I only take pictures of things I like. I really remember taking more that this, but oh well... Can you tell what cars I like? :D http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/588795NSXfront.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/572723NSXinterior.jpg I like this angle: http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/455599NSXrear.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/449391NSXside.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/264530NSXcorner.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/661327s2kenginebay.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/254261s2krear.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/291021s2krightside.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/758605s2ksideback.jpg This car looks weird to me... Maybe it'll grow on me... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/471560Sifront.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/707813siinterior.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/165654sirear.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/342895Siside.jpg They had all the fancy cars crammed in one section... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/178807360_456_etc.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/107309360spider550.jpg Damn autofocus! http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/2736123ferrari.jpg Three Ferraris, four Diablos... :D The black Diablo had red trim around the taillights. Super-cool! http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/8273494d.jpg Thanks to abstract, I recognized this Alpine edition as such when I saw it. :D http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/799699bluealpine.jpg And this one (not Alpine ed.) looks like the same color as abstract's car. :) http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/732299orangealpine.jpg I was really impressed with the WRX. Really, really. I'm going to test drive one next week. :D http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/198339blueWRX.jpg They had the WRX rally machine, too...  Awesome!!! http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/463360WRCWRXfront.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/881791WRCWRXrearunder.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/350625WRCWRXrightside.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/555938WRCWRXwheel.jpg These two Rally Foci are actually the same car... labeled #3 on one side with the #3 drivers, #4 on the other. Nice car, though. I hope it was real, because it lookes as rugged as the WRX. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/726723WRCFocus3.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/647689WRCFocus4.jpg There is a whole section for souped-up mucle cars, street rods, low riders and lead sleds. Some were really nice and clean: http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/372084raceGTO.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/725682raceGTOengine.jpg ...Some were odd... :lol2: http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/456215mj.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/104291mjclose.jpg This is the same concept Viper that was in L.A. in January, but now I got picture without people wandering through... :D http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/250872viperhigh.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/247535viperlow.jpg Ford Forty Nine. Concept car. I just like it. :) I like it better than the new Tbird... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/701012fortynine.jpg No explanation necessary: http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/891146mach5.jpg Chevy has this Mako Shark Sting ray in with its Corvettes. Awesome car, but I was surprised it's only in fair condition... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/311672makoshark.jpg I think we were the only people to get near the Aztek. And we were laughing the whole time. And, yes, it's ugly on the inside, too. :hehehe: http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/234635aztec.jpg DVSNCYNIKL 10-12-2001, 09:24 AM Lousy, damn photojournalist! :D :D j/k Is that you inside that beast? Way smaller than the L.A. show. That, and I got kinda "camera-lazy" by the time we got to the far end of the hall. gang$tarr 10-12-2001, 09:01 PM Originally posted by jay@af That, and I got kinda "camera-lazy" by the time we got to the far end of the hall. I can relate!! :D Jay! 10-12-2001, 09:02 PM Originally posted by gang$tarr I can relate!! :D I wish I'd taken pics of the SLK32 AMG I sat in... and the CL55 AMG. Those were nice. :D kris 10-13-2001, 01:14 AM That S2k has some nasty wheel gap. Anyways, here are some touched up Si's to look over ;) http://www.users.qwest.net/~bkc3/+cars/civicsi_ps_6.jpg http://www.users.qwest.net/~bkc3/+cars/2002si.jpg http://www.users.qwest.net/~bkc3/+cars/ctr.jpg And then the custom: http://www.users.qwest.net/~bkc3/+cars/2001_acura_rsx-hatch3.jpg Porsche 10-13-2001, 02:07 AM Those are good KB, I like those Italian Stallions Jay! I should have saluted. :D gang$tarr 10-13-2001, 02:03 PM why does security wear those hats?! lol :D :D dre 10-14-2001, 08:11 PM went to this show earlier today. I gotta agree on the Ford '49 concept.... I like it better than the tbird, and I got a tbird! I was pissed you couldn't sit in the porsches, and some of the others.... I mean, it's a freakin' auto show!! the Infiniti booth said next year for the G35, and the Nissan chick said at the LA show will be the Z. Overall, I thought the show was pretty average, but there was a bar and margaritas! So that makes up for anything!:smoka: Jay! 10-14-2001, 08:17 PM And no Sentra SE-R, either. And it comes out next month! Did you notice that Saleen wasn't there? They were supposed to be where the Speed Racer cars were. Rip-off!!! Originally posted by dre I was pissed you couldn't sit in the porsches, and some of the others.... I mean, it's a freakin' auto show!!But you could sit in the CL55 AMG, a $109,000 car. Nice! :D gang$tarr 10-14-2001, 09:13 PM Originally posted by jay@af But you could sit in the CL55 AMG, a $109,000 car. Nice! :D I've driven a neighbours CL600... it's damn sweet, 365hp V12... i think it starts at around 120k Heep 10-14-2001, 10:39 PM We (me and the rest of the Porsche team) let people sit in the Porsches at my college's aut show, but the Benz people and Lexus people were tight and wouldn't let people sit in them. Jay! 10-14-2001, 10:41 PM Originally posted by Heep ...but the Benz people and Lexus people were tight and wouldn't let people sit in them. BOOOOO!!! The only Lexus we couldn't sit in was the SC, but the guys were nice and would open it up for us on command. All of the MBZ were fair game. :D gang$tarr 10-14-2001, 11:52 PM why wouldn't they let you sit in the SC? the LS costs just as much if not more Jay! 10-14-2001, 11:53 PM Originally posted by gang$tarr why wouldn't they let you sit in the SC? the LS costs just as much if not more Probably so we wouldn't break the roof. Jerks! kris 10-15-2001, 12:14 AM http://www.users.qwest.net/~bkc3/+cars/02si/6441791-adda-020000F1-.jpg http://www.users.qwest.net/~bkc3/+cars/02si/6441796-4014-020000F1-.jpg http://www.users.qwest.net/~bkc3/+cars/02si/med1.jpg http://www.users.qwest.net/~bkc3/+cars/02si/med2.jpg http://www.users.qwest.net/~bkc3/+cars/02si/med3.jpg JD@af 10-15-2001, 12:24 AM jay Thanks for all the great pictures from the Auto Show. Looks like some cool stuff, and there were some aspects, like the muscle cars, that were absent from the NY Auto Show back in April. That sucks!! I actually saw this cool show of old cars turned hot rods (like 30's and 40's models) up in Vermont on September 22nd with my buddy Ross. Some of them sported the old school HUGE roots blowers!! They looked like easliy 200 cfm units, and they don't use the flat drive belts, but rather cogged belts like timing belts to prevent slipping. Put my puny JRSC M62 to shame!!! And probably the highlight in my book was this old Chrysler with a Viper V10 (although it did seem a little crazy to hook a 450-horse engine up to a 4-speed automatic). It kicked ass. In fact a lot of the cars, besides using large V8's, used very contemporary technology like aftermarket fuel injection systems, MSD ignitions, etc. kris I hadn't come across those pictures of the Civic Type R that you posted. Looks "a little nicer" ;) (that's a very sarcastic understatement - though I know with some work, a Civic Si could be dressed up to look very much like that Type R) than the Civic Si we're slated to get. Heep 10-15-2001, 12:51 AM Looks like somebody (*cough*kris*cough*) has a new dream car.... gang$tarr 10-15-2001, 04:36 PM Originally posted by jay@af Probably so we wouldn't break the roof. Jerks! the roof wasn't down? kris 10-22-2001, 05:14 AM johnny 10-31-2001, 05:08 AM Why does Honda always display the Red S2K? Yeuch gang$tarr 10-31-2001, 03:49 PM i think the red S2K looks good :) i think i'd get a black one though.... i like black Porsche 10-31-2001, 07:13 PM I like the one In FNF. F20C 10-31-2001, 07:41 PM For all of you FNF lovers. This is the Berlina Black S2000 in the movie. However you will not recognize it. http://www.speedoptions.com/features_car.asp?id=42 Heep 10-31-2001, 10:21 PM I hated 98% of the cars in the movie, but that S2000 was one of the very few that I did like. Except for the NOS, of course. Jay! 11-01-2001, 01:46 AM Originally posted by johnny Why does Honda always display the Red S2K? Yeuch I'll take it anyway I can get it. I need my fix. :uhoh: Twist 11-03-2001, 10:50 AM  Demon Car! Man, that car must be scary fast! Twist 11-03-2001, 10:53 AM Oh, and doesn't the Viper Concept looked like an S2000 on steroids? It does to me... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
