Yikes, that car is super quick, although it doesn't quite have the poise of the Maxima, nor does it have the poise of the G20s. The Altima is one of those "Wolf is Sheep's Clothing" cars, super quick, easy to pounce on just about anything on the road. So this makes me ask "Have you driven a 4 door Porsche lately?"

yep i saw motorweek a couple of days ago and so far they have the best times for it 0-60 5.9 and1/4 mile 14.4 ...yikes load up the groceries and the wife and kids and go looking for old school m3's

my girlfriend just bought one of those...... gives me good races.... better than her 97 altima was. Quick as hell. i kinda want one now ;-)

It is "upgraded", you know BPU ++

The Altima got the launch on me, and then we got caught a light. I had the windows down and he rolls down his window and says to me, he says "that VW ain't shit" :flipa: ...
I tell him I was not racing, but I would if he wants, and then even take it on the highway, he agrees.

The light turned green, he squeals the tires and takes the jump. I casually dump the clutch at 2k RPMs and gain and gain, and start pulling.
This was more like a 1/8th mile and had him by 2 cars.

He followed me onto the highway and I let him line up next to me at 50mph and I pulled like a mofo. Slowed down, and did it again this time starting from 60mph. I had 8 cars lengths by 120mph and decided that was enough. You should have seen his face .:D

In summary: they are good off the line, but on a highway roll they lose steam. :cool:

Man, I would feel SO sorry for him if I had my 7.

I don't know BPU ++, but I call BS. Especially the part about the car being fast off the line and losing steam top end. I find the exact opposite is true.

MAX i'm alittle unfamiliar with volkswagons. does the 1.8T stand for turbo? and what was the horsepower on that jetta of your girls? i just wanna know how can a mere jetta beat a altima.

I am comparing it to a modded Jetta not stock, very far from it.

What are you comparing the new Altima too ?

yes it is a 1.8 liter turbo.

I don't know the horsepower as the car hasn't being dynoed.

Well it is not a mere Jetta.

I did the basic intake/exhaust, retuned chip, and bigger turbo.
Thus the bigger turbo takes a longer time to spool up, but once in boost it takes over and that is why the Altima got me off the line. Then when I was in the sweet spot, I just took off. This Jetta has some mad power in boost.

Also, when I test drove the VR6 it felt a good bit faster than the 1.8T that my girl got with no mods. We decided to get the 1.8T due to the number of upgrades that can be done to it compared to the VR6. Well, it is her car, I just got her to mod it :D

whoa that sounds lkea pretty awesome ride. sounds like it has more hp goin tot he wheels then the altima does and its a smaller car. wow, that thing must be a sleeper. but i wouldnt' go that far to say that the altima loses steam with a rollin start. i think its just cause you bigger turbo gets unlessed at a higher rpm. thats all.

I don't know what my dad is driving nowadays. I'm comparing it to most other vehicles on the road. It pulls much harder top end, and is not as fast off the line due to traction problems. If the Altima got you off the line you were done. Period. Got any timeslips?

Listen, you are already Altima brainwashed. I will not continue in this agrument, I have nothing to proove. I know I have beaten some new V6 Altimas and will continue to do so, unless a SC or turbo kit comes along for the 3.5 V6 as I'm sure it will, then it will be a closer match even though stock vs. stock the Altima has 2 more cylinders and around 60 more hp.

What size rims are those on your car.....I cant figure out what size to buy (17's or 18's....) I am looking and Cant make up my mind. I have 1400.....want to spend about 1000 and use the rest for tint and exhaust

www.wheelmax.com sells rims for good prices....but so does ebay and stuff....what do you think, your car looks good with those rims....I just need thicker spokes so my dad doesnt notice I have after market rims :D

They're 19X8's from Discount Tire (http://www.discounttiredirect.com). There are few 19's to choose from. 18's are much cheaper, and there are about 10 times as many to choose from. Don't get 17's - they're too small for the car.

No 1.8 Liter turbo, it can beat a maxima or altima, once you mod a turbo it can really move. Just dont go racing any S/C'ed ones or your going to get worked :flipa:

I know that Stillin is working on a Sc was it of TT on the VQ35 engine. I know that they are gonna bring it out for the 350z and G35.
