to Z66, or not to Z66...kjpierce 02-09-2003, 07:18 PM i am about to order a 2003 avalanche w/out the body hardware. i want the 2wd, but i don't know if i want the Z66 pkg. the pkg is $1,045. it includes this: -tinted rear window -big deal -better suspension -ok -traction assist - need that -differential,locking, -do i need this??? don't plan on heavy towing heavy duty rear -recovery hooks.front -don't plan on getting stuck! -17" wheels -getting aftermarket wheels so basically all i want is the traction assist and maybe the hd rear. does anyone have the Z66? so what is everyone's opinion on this? thanks kj bowtiebandit 02-09-2003, 09:45 PM What are your future plans with this truck? kjpierce 02-11-2003, 03:27 PM mods: -cold air intake -exhaust(cat back duals) -chrome step side bars -20" wheels as far as use: no off roading no heavy towing just want a nice truck for family and use for aroung the house type stuff. i actually ordered one with the z66 pkg. cuz right now there is a 4,000 rebate on the avalanche. so i am trying to get one made before the end of this month. but the dealer said if it didn't come in by the end of the month i don't have to get it. cuz i want the rebate. but he want the z66 on it so he can sell it if i don't get it. so basically i am getting the z66 to get the rebate, unless i just get one with the body hardware. slacker_53 08-15-2004, 05:51 PM I know you don't want/need a 4X4, but in my opinion the resale on a 4X4 is worth the intial expense - you will get most of it back in trade, whether you use it or not. -only my opinion. If you MUST get a two wheel drive (UGH!) and CAN get the rebate, why not get the Z66 pkg. If the rebate is not in the equation and you still want a two wheel drive, then why get the Z66 pkg.? A two wheel drive Avalanche is like a Pepsi without the fizz, a hot dog without the mustard, a boat without a motor...................
