"In the coming weeks VW will be calling back 850.000 cars: the 2001 and 2002 models of VW, Audi, Skoda and Seat seem to have a problem with the ignition. It won't start after a night (or day) of cold weather.

Especially the 1.8T engines or the V5, V6 and W8 engines seem to have problems." (source: belgian newspaper)

Ouch, I'm glad mine always starts (offcourse I would gladly trade it for a 1.8T :D )

Next to the window regulators, it's the one recall the should have done a long time ago.

Did these cars come to NA, or just the euro versions? BTW: SEAT is part of VW?

Yep, they are all part of the Volkswagen group.

Dunno for NA, euro versions for sure.

Eight brands, but over fifteen companies.
And yes, the recall goes for NA vehicles too.
