4.3L defective rod bearings

Has anyone else had this problem, I have a 99' Blazer 4.3L 65000miles and the rod bearing on the # 3 cylinder is gone. It's had regular oil changes and maintience. I found a few others with this problem as well. A little concerned to put in a used motor as it may also crap out on me.

Haven't seen anything like that..? Usually the only time that happens is right after replacing intake gaskets but the new design gaskets ave eliminated that or coolant contamination.

my intake gasket (95 S-10 4.3L CPI) weeps just a little bit to the outside and it leaves a telltale mark down the front of the drivers side cylinder head. its been doing that for a good 100,000 miles or more but since it isnt bad or leaking internally i havent bothered it.

i figure now i'll get it when i pull it out and freshen it up. which does lead me to a question. would changing the valve sizes and the compression just a touch have any negative effects on the computer? i cant see how it would, but i figured i'd ask.

im considering going to 2.02/1.60's and bumping the compression just a touch, figuring it will enhance the gain achieved with the headers.

It shouldnt effect it to much but I think I'd get a reprogramer to help it. I am not sure if those valves will fit in a 4.3 head, when I built mine, though it is a Z engine the lares I could put in where LT1 valves. I cant remember the size's but I think it was 2.00 and 1.54. Thie intake only causes a problem if when replaced debris gets in, people use to use these roloc grinding discs and the little fobers would clog the oil pump, the newer engined use plastic gaskets so there is no reason to grind.

i have the same problem, i haven't pulled the pan yet but as a mechanic i knew what it was when it happened, my blazer has 97 999km on it, and has been sitting on the floor of the inlaws garage for over a year
