Bmw M3 Gtrhakka 10-09-2001, 08:57 PM At the Petit Le Mans last weekend, one of the BMW teams had a silver M3 GTR...the kind with the V8:) It was awesome, the louvers and wide fenders gave it a much more aggressive look. I'll try to post the pictures if I can find a scanner. Too bad I don't have a spare $225k lying around:( Rich 10-09-2001, 09:08 PM Originally posted by hakka At the Petit Le Mans last weekend, one of the BMW teams had a silver M3 GTR...the kind with the V8:) It was awesome, the louvers and wide fenders gave it a much more aggressive look. I didnt see the car that you speak of, but I doubt that I would spend that much cash on any car, id rather have 2 $90K rides and then do them all up. If you could post a pic that would be sweet, cause this car has to be something pretty special to be worth $225k:smoka: Porsche 10-11-2001, 04:25 PM Well, if it's right off the track at Petit Le Mans, $225K is quite reasonable, any race car will have a 50K+ Motor, and then you get race spec (Not Type R "race" crap) parts, tires and ultralight body panels. Derek Bell's Audi S4 is a cool $180K. The Mb CLK GTR, is 2 mil for race or production, there pretty much the same thing. hakka 10-11-2001, 07:51 PM Originally posted by Porsche ...ultralight body panels... How much does the M3 GTR weigh? its somewhere around 2800 lbs right? that with the V8 would make it pretty fast... Heep 10-11-2001, 08:56 PM Yeah, they showed it on Speedvision during the race. http://209.132.49.149/images-large/2002_bmw_m3_gtr_strass-2.jpg Jimster 10-12-2001, 04:02 AM I saw what looked like one sorry Porsche 10-13-2001, 02:09 AM Is that the same as the M3 Lightweight that they just introduced? Heep 10-13-2001, 02:32 AM Probably, except that it has a 444hp V8 crammed in there.... Porsche 10-13-2001, 03:59 PM Oh, okay, BMW is really doing some work with thier m-3's then
M3 Coupe M3 Cabrio M3 Sedan? M3 GTR V-8 M3 Lightweight CSL
That's quite a few! hermunn123 10-14-2001, 03:46 PM Probably, except that it has a 444hp V8 crammed in there.... wrong. it's the same V8 but it only has approx. 350 hp. the CSL is better IMO. i'll find out some more stuff on it in a couple minutes. gotta find it first. Heep 10-14-2001, 04:16 PM Yeah, I figured the engine would be downgraded, but I didn't know how much... hermunn123 10-14-2001, 10:44 PM the GTR only saves around 100 to 200 kg. it has the larger 19 inch wheels but same size brakes as the stock M3. the CSL has 19 inch brakes(!!!!!!!!). it does have a dry sump lubrication, low profile tires, and twin plate clutch though. i'd rather have the CSL for the amount the GTR is. horsepower is "more than 350 hp" torque is a crappy 269 lb ft- the same as the stock M3 shrubchild 10-17-2001, 10:35 PM omg the M series fucking rocks! Heep 10-17-2001, 10:38 PM Originally posted by hermunn123 ...the CSL has 19 inch brakes(!!!!!!!!). How can it possibly have 19 inch brakes if the wheel is only 19 inches? The disc wouldn't fit by itself, and then there would be no room for a caliper. The inside diameter of a 19 inch wheel is probably 18.5 inches max, so a 19 inch diameter rotor couldn't fit in there, even without caliper.... Porsche 10-17-2001, 11:15 PM Hey, BMW could make it work. :D BTW, Why is the Canadian Flag messed up/ F20C 10-17-2001, 11:41 PM CSL still retain the inline6 but tuned to 380hp. The main attraction of CSL is it's weight reduction. The curb weight of CSL is 400lbs less than regular M3. BMW was able to obtain this feat by using extensive amount of carbon fibre. Porsche 10-18-2001, 06:46 PM That's exactly what I heard on Autoweek. 440 Lbs, to be exact. F20C 10-18-2001, 07:46 PM CSL could be imported to North America with 100,000+ price tag. hermunn123 10-27-2001, 05:37 PM Oh, okay, BMW is really doing some work with thier m-3's then M3 Coupe M3 Cabrio M3 Sedan? M3 GTR V-8 M3 Lightweight CSL That's quite a few! i dont know why i didnt say anything earlier but there is no M3 Sedan. the 19 inch brakes was a typo. they are 18 inch brakes. my bad guys. still freakin crazy though! Porsche 10-27-2001, 06:40 PM Note question markage for the M3 Sedan. hermunn123 10-27-2001, 10:10 PM well i just letting you know that there is not going to be an M3 Sedan F20C 10-27-2001, 10:36 PM Never say never cause the last generation M3 sedan was quite a success. hermunn123 10-28-2001, 02:05 PM there will not be an E46 M3 Sedan. ian840 10-30-2001, 06:52 PM hahaha :hehehe: nice hermunn vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
