Broken SL2Sad 95 SL2 02-02-2003, 10:16 PM I have thrown a rod in a 95 SL2 Twin Cam and am wondering if it's possible to put in a different years engine. -Adam darkcity 02-13-2003, 10:53 PM you can fit just about anything in anything with enough money and a lot of effort. They fit V8 Mustang engines in Miatas... zamp 05-09-2004, 08:21 PM saturn engines changed very little between 91 and 2002, you will probably need to replace the computer but the transmission, exhost, and motor mounts are all compatable. Mjkorn2000 05-14-2004, 03:08 AM Go with the 2000 model for performance they have aluminum cylinders. for daily driving go with the same year no big deal. Same as a 2000 probably cheaper remanufactured than buying a new 2000 for the difference you can upgrade your remanufactured engine. SabreKhan 05-14-2004, 12:36 PM Yes, but my '00 motor (SOHC, manual trans) has 100,000 miles on it and has never had anything but scheduled maintenance (except to replace the top mount), so I'm personally a big fan of the '00 motor. SabreKhan 05-14-2004, 12:54 PM Umm... I just noticed that this was posted originally in February of '03... if that car's still broken, he's got bigger problems than just a thrown rod. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
