President George W. Bush on Sunday said the United States has begun retaliatory strikes in Afghanistan for terrorist attacks on September 11. "There can be no peace in a world of terror," he said in a televised speech to the nation. There were reports of explosions in Kabul and Kandahar Sunday night, as flashes of light were seen from a distance.

are we at a state of war? or is this a police action? like the Korean War was a police action, not a war. I think Vietnam was the same, that's why it's not called the Vietnamese (sp) war

No, this is a war, hence why the "Military" is involved. Plus it was declared an act of war by our great leader George "dubya" Bush.

The national guard is invoked to act as police on the homefront.

Um, the Korean and Vietnam, weren't considered wars, they were police actions.... are you saying that there was no military involved there?

I don't have the information in front of me about those wars. You asked if this was considered a war and I answered that question. Whatever those wars were called is not what I am referring to.

i'm just sayin that korea and vietnam weren't considered wars and they were alot bigger than this (so far) so this could just be considered an action not a war

Show me what you are looking at or reading where it specifically says they weren't wars!

i'm not reading anything, i just remember from history last year... getting taught this and watching a video of people that were in Korea and they weren't getting the recognition of veterans because it wasn't considered a war, even though if it was considered a war it would have been one of the biggest of the century... probably 3rd after WW1 and WW2

I have read no such thing. CNN has pretty much everything on this war covered and have not revealed those facts. Even if they were Chinese, which they probably weren't, it would probably be more Indonesian the Chinese.

One thing about CNN is that they show you what they want to. I heard it on a Christian radio station. And don't try to tell me that they are making it up. Well then again I can't tell you they aren't. Their is alot of stuff going on that the media won't let us know. China really does hate us.
