is it...ac427cpe 01-20-2003, 09:00 PM do you think the GT40 is an american car? why/why not? M3FordBoy 12-17-2003, 04:28 PM Heck ya! Ford design, Ford powered made to show the can win any motor sport and now it is a viper slayer. ac427cpe 12-17-2003, 04:45 PM wow... old thread. i think i was asking about thoughts on the origonal GT40, the Lola GT designed one. not the new one, the GT is 100% 2stangs 07-10-2004, 02:07 AM Well the origional if u want to get technical was a Ford design, but created and assembled in the UK. So I would say it technically is a british car, but the new one kinda out does the old ( hitting the new speed of 205mph see ya Ferrari F50!). That is kinda hard 4 me to say considering those are my favorite #1 and #2 cars ever. Demon_Mustang 07-14-2004, 04:55 AM Well, actually, the original Lola design didn't win the Le Mans. It was a pretty poor design and was underpowered. The front end of the Lola design produced 300 pounds of lift at speed. Ford redesigned it, also with the help of Lola, I believe, and they threw in their own big ass engine for the version that actually ended up winning the race 4 years in a row that got it so famous. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
