Actually the fastest street legal car in the world is a Supra. It used to be a Porsche then a Supra beat it with 337km/h speed.

Actually the first car isn't a drag car per-se...it's a Bonneville Salt Flats top/land speed car. 1200ps...but I'm not sure what the conversion to hp is. I remember reading an article that said it broke the tires loose in every gear but the 6th. If you go to www.junauto.co.jp there's an article on it there. If I recall correctly (its been a while since I read about it), but I think the Scoot RX7 was a bit faster than that Supra even. Although that might've been at the Nurburgring or Twin Ring Motegi I forget...like I said it's been a while (plus I'm kinda hungover, shhhhhh :D ). Either way JUN makes some crazy shit :sun:

They say that if you bolted on a different front bumper than they used for the top speed run, that the car would be streetable. Whether or not it's actually street legal is a different question altogether! ;)

I forget what it was that beat it, I think it was actually a Camaro, but the Supra was not able to beat it.
Both are very impressive cars though!

Well, figuring that john carmack has a 1200HP TT Ferrari F50...I would say this supra is not nearly the fastest street legal car out there!! His F50 is completely street legal.

hmm...337 km/h is 208mph...the mclaren f1 has been radared at 230+, and the sledgehammer corvette did a radar run of 255mph...both street legal cars...so how is this supra the fastest???

It took me about 10 secs to find those. I am guessing there are other street legal cars that have ran past the 208 mark fairly easily.

Highest avg was 399/kph

Output is 1200hp.

i have that video of the JUN supra.......it's the craziest shit.....you can hear the turbo's screaming!!!......and they went into a turn burning the tires and the smoke was unbelievable.......couldn't see a thing.......JUN is coooool......and their california shop is about 10 min away from my house!!!!.......

what amazing cars! there is a red supra near me, totally standard but still looks great!

i could have swore that this supra set the land speed

even 400km/hour is "only" 248 miles per hours...the sledgehammer ran 255 on radar. So unless one of these supra's ran over 410 km/h...then it didn't break the record. Also, if the supra needs over 1200HP to reach 400km/hour on a test track...it is not going to beat other cars. The sledghammer was a C4 corvette with "only" 800 some HP. With another 400 or so HP and some aerodynamic work it could easily reach over 270MPH. I just wish someone would make a high speed run with a heavily modified C5 vette.
