Hey guys I just got back from a 4 day vacation on the Oregon Coast! When I grew up my parents had a place in Waldport, so it was nice to return to the crashing waves and high cliffs of Oregon (people from Washington and BC miss most of the surf).

Anyway, if you're looking for a lazy town near Portland to get away from it all and be close to the beach I would suggest you check out Manzanita, OR. There is a good website with rentals called www.manzanitarentals.com. They have winter rates and we stayed in a house overlooking the ocean 1 blk from the beach for $115/night. A great view and a firepit in the middle of the lawn while watching the sunset was awesome.

So if you live in the PNWX and are looking for a good getaway..... :smoker:

Last summer I spent a week down near Florence! Man was that nice! The girlfriend and I camped at the state campgrounds for $12 a night, which included showers. I wish I had the Xterra then for allthe dunes. You could rent beach buggies to go exploring the dunes or go for a ride in this huge monstrosity of a sand buggy that held like 30 people. then we went to Crater lake and the Oregon Caves National Monument.

...how about a more wintery view? :D Schlud will probably zap this since that's not an Xterra in the picture, but I think it's kind of cool myself. One of the Audi guys snapped this on his way to a lodge or soemthing. Yes, there is a road under there. :D
