Hey the new integra (IS 2.0 is coming out next year...what does everyone think about it? Its supposed to have 2.0 liter 215 hp...not bad for a 4 banger...it also is supposed to have the new vtec-i engine which will be awesome.

isn't the new Civic going to have the same engine as an option?
That's what I heard from somewhere..

the new teg is gonna kick some butt...i heard its supposed to be based on the civic platform...lets hope it comes out looking good.

I hope they dont slaughter the looks of the integra like they did to the civic... I really dont like the new shape... Personal Opinion though...

"SUBARU" is a Japanese word meaning "unite," as well as a term identifying a cluster of six stars which the Greeks called the Pleiades -- part of the Taurus constellation. According to Greek mythology, Atlas' daughters turned into this group of stars.

What are the torque figures for it? Although HP gets a good number, for everyday driving (fast driving, that is) torque means more to me. With such little displacement, good torque numbers are hard to acheive. I agree with Unite....I hope they don't slaughter the design with the integra like they did with the civic.

"2001 Integra = As recent rumors have suggested, the name "Integra" has
been dropped from Acura's compact entry level sports car. Instead an
alpha-numeric designation will be utilized that has not been publicly
disclosed yet. Power for the new car will come from a 220HP VTEC-i
inline 4, and the front drive/front engine layout has been retained. No sedan
version will be offered in North America, but the coupe model we will
get will be mechanically identical to a JDM Type-R version of the same car.
For some strange reason the "Type-R" moniker will not be used in North
America to denote this new Integra, since just one version of the car will be
made available here.

We will see this new car unwrapped for the press later this year, on its
way to a mid/late 2001 arrival in North America."
no torque figures, but hp looks even better!

I love the look of the integra. Really, I love all cars and the way they look. It takes so long to make them that every car should get credit for being built. :D

Hey i heard the name now might be called the RS-X, kinda after the MD-X and the NS-X. IMO i think that name is much better...i'd rather say i'm driving an rsx than an is...for some reason it sounds much cooler...anyways there's new pics floating around and once its revealed at the detroit motor show........
Peace

Yeah, I'd prefer the name to be RS-X as well. Much more interesting than IS 2.0. I hope that this is what Honda decides to use. And they may be able to do it, since they only plan on releasing a single version here in the states. I could see using IS 2.0 if they were to be relasing numerous versions, as they did with the last Integra, but if only one as planned.. than RS-X could be it!

IS almost sounds like it's a Toyota (or, Acura:))

Hmmm... IS 2.0. So that's what Honda is deciding to call it. I'll miss the Integra name.

I am seriously bumming that they decided to discontinue the four-door. I have a 1994 GS-R four-door. The thing is a gem, and I will have to keep it going, as there will be no replacement.

Well, everyone's seen it now! So what do ya'll think??

http://www.geocities.com/blue99_si/rsx-03.jpg

Personally, I can't say I really care for the new styling, but I'm sure it can be improved upon with some nice wheels and slammed... and the performance sounds good. Does anyone know what this new "Teg" is s'posed to weigh? I hope it hasn't gained weight..

hey i dont know what that guy is talking about but the new integras name is definetly the RS-X, the only company that makes a car under the "IS" name is Lexus. SO GET A CLUE

JD@af

As you probably know, Honda keeps all their new releases heavily veiled in secrecy. When this post was started, there were still basically rumors flying around among the general public about the new Integra. It was not known what the name would be. So IS 2.0 (or 2.0 IS) seemed like a logical name that generally fits in with the Acura system of nomenclature. It's not that anybody was clueless, the information was just not available at that time.

Thanks JD

Yes if you look at the date when this thread was started no one knew the exact name of the RSX...When I started this post rumors were going around that the name was IS 2.0 And for that reason I started the thread with the name IS 2.0

Peace

torque is 142 lbs/ft. its on the acura website. thats for the type s. the type r, i think its coming out 2003-04, should have like 215 hp, im not sure about torque.

i think the 02 si is going to have the base rsx engine, they have the same figures.
