£340iandriver 10-03-2001, 12:05 PM rite i have a max of £340 and i want i nitro or petrol car and i want as much speed as possible for that amount. any ideas? oh and i would like it to have hopups avalable Psman32@af 10-04-2001, 05:59 PM How much expierence do u have building and running/racing any r/c vehicle? iandriver 10-05-2001, 01:29 PM well i have run a fast electronic car for about 1.5 years and i can look after the engine if thats what u mean how about aHPI Nitro RS4 of may b a Tamiya Nitro Mercedes CLK DTM. which would b faster? or better for me if any or even a schumacher nitro 21 extreme Psman32@af 10-08-2001, 11:40 AM From the look of your buggy, I think that you dont have the expierence to run a .21 touring car. I got a .21 gas truck, and none of my other trucks prepared me for the power this one has, and one of them has a trinity D4 11 turn triple motor in it, and i usually run it with either my 2000 or 2400 pack. Id suggest a touring car with a .12 or a .15 to start with. iandriver 10-08-2001, 01:03 PM well what about a traxxas nitro 4tec? i heard there fast and it runs on a .15 engine Psman32@af 10-08-2001, 04:11 PM I haven't heard that great of things from others about the Traxxas 4-Tec. Id take an HPI over that. Also do u know how much work is involved with a gas vehicle? You need to clean it after every run and on average that takes like 20 min. After a day of racing, a friend of mine spends about 1 hour cleaning it. Another thing to consider is if you want to stick with an electric is a pan car. There aren't alot on the market anymore and there isn't a whole lot of places to race them, but they are fast as hell. A downside to them is that they are hard to control until you get used to how they handle. Parma makes them and so does Bolink. I have a parma pan car and on the track it is faster than any other touring car that ive meet at the track, and with a 7 cell pack of 1700's, can keep up with the .21 engined touring cars. iandriver 10-09-2001, 03:10 PM thanx i may buy one of those pan cars where can you get them. are they easy to get hold ov Psman32@af 10-09-2001, 03:33 PM check with hobby shops around you. If not look for mail order. I believe that you can get direct ordering from parma through their site but im not sure. This is Parma's website. They make some really nice bodies. Check some of their links to find distributors. There are almost no hobby shops that will stock pan cars because they are not very popular. http://www.parmapse.com/. Also, I have had my pan car up to 60 mph with a cheap ass speedgems2 motor. Bolink doesn't have a site right now but look in mags for them if you can't find them. iandriver 10-13-2001, 02:40 PM thanx Psman32@af 10-15-2001, 02:56 PM welcome. Also if you just want straight line speed and no turning, you can get a funny car of dragster. They have room for tons of cells, like 20 or more, but dont turn at all. RCer 10-17-2001, 10:28 AM HPI does a very good cars, and the bodies are to die for. Lots of them and lots of details. I own an Nitro RS4. Love that car. Also check the Serpent Impulse. Simply the best touring car I have seen, very fast and strong. BTW, all my post are about on road cars, I don't like much the dirt of the off roads. It's very nice to race them, but the you will have to clean them, and that I don't like. Psman32@af 10-17-2001, 12:55 PM Not to be mean or anything, but HPI doesn't make that good of bodies when compared to Parma and Taimyia. I think the reason you said that was they make more exocitc cars than other companies do, but, have you ever compared Parma's Viper body to a HPI Viper body? The Hpi looks like crap next to the Parma Body. Parma has very highly detailed body's for cars, but their bodies for truck, for the most part, aren't as nice. Also, HPI will usually strech their bodies to fir their chasis and they will not be to true scale like most of Parma's and Taimyia's. So when you can prove to me that they have a higher detailed body than Parma or Taimyia, then I might rethink my opinion. [edit] (helps if I finish my thoughts) RCer 10-17-2001, 01:53 PM So when you can prove to me that they have a higher detailed body than Parma or Taimyia, then I might rethink my opinion. I really don't think I have to prove anything to anybody. I jus said MY OPINION, period. Besides, I NEVER said they were better. I said they are very good, and they are. I mean, don't tell me this is not good: RCer 10-17-2001, 01:57 PM another one. RCer 10-17-2001, 02:08 PM one more RCer 10-17-2001, 02:10 PM last one, for time been. Psman32@af 11-09-2001, 01:52 PM hmm im just gonna post one for now. I own this body and every black line is molded into the body and it is very strong. i have never cracked it from a crash and its been through alot, in cluding hitting curb and flipping upside-down to roll on its top for over 20 feet, and the only damage done were a few scrathes done on the roof, nothing else. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
