Pulsar/Sunny ever have 6 speeds?GoodJuan 10-01-2001, 11:36 PM i swore i saw a primera owner's website where he said he had swapped a 6 spd tranny from a pulsar. I tried finding it again and couldn't find it....there i go imagining webpages again GoodJuan 10-01-2001, 11:47 PM found it again, but i've never heard of a gti-r spec v, was there one?.... ENtErMaIn1 ... SR20DET Turbo Engine Conversion, 6 Speed manual AWD Transmission from a 96 Pulsar GTI-R Spec-V. Injen Intake, Stillen Header, JWT ECU, 75 Shot JWT Port ... http://l3thalg20.homestead.com/ENtErMaIn1.html Anthony 10-02-2001, 03:47 AM Maybe it was some monster that only ever saw the light of day in Japan? I've certainly not heard of a GTi-R Spec V, or for that matter a GTi-R with a 6 speed 'box as standard. jprimera 10-02-2001, 02:20 PM the pulsar vzr1 have a 6 speed box ,never heard about a gtir with this gear box. GoodJuan 10-16-2001, 05:17 PM Originally posted by jprimera the pulsar vzr1 have a 6 speed box ,never heard about a gtir with this gear box. Would you happen to know the technical info or any specs at all about the vzr1 of which you speak? Sounds cool. jprimera 10-16-2001, 07:37 PM is a 1.6 liter with 200hp ,I will find more info about this car. Morpheus XIII 10-16-2001, 08:18 PM The limited run Pulsar Serie VZ-R N1 Version II is powered by the SR16VE (NEO VVL) which puts out 200hp @ 7800 rpm from 1596ccs. At 125.3 hp/l that's a slightly better hp:liter ratio than the Honda S2000's F20C. Here's a shot of the motor: Morpheus XIII 10-16-2001, 08:45 PM Exterior shot: Morpheus XIII 10-16-2001, 08:46 PM Interior shot: Morpheus XIII 10-16-2001, 08:48 PM Interior seating. As you can see, inside and out, it has the general platform of the standard Pulsars, but is built for extremist sports: P10DET 10-16-2001, 08:55 PM Originally posted by jprimera the pulsar vzr1 have a 6 speed box I actually had one of these in my hands last year. :D OK, it was brand new and in a box, but the box (and thus gearbox) was in my hand. :D:D:D:D:D GoodJuan 10-16-2001, 09:11 PM Originally posted by Morpheus XIII The limited run Pulsar Serie VZ...: Well i guess i can forget about getting my hands of one of their gearboxes... P10DET 10-16-2001, 09:15 PM Originally posted by GoodJuan Well i guess i can forget about getting my hands of one of their gearboxes... I think JWT can get you one. For about $6,000. They are extremely rare and generally not available used (unlike the SR20DET). Morpheus XIII 10-18-2001, 03:44 PM You know, for $6000, you might as well be better off with a race-designed sequential gearbox. I know JUN Auto Mechanic has a 5-speed seq. for the S14 bodies in longitudinal rear-wheel-drive format, but surely someone will have them for front-wheelers. And they'll only cost you around $20,000. Morpheus XIII 10-19-2001, 03:34 AM Like I said, I don't know how much a FWD sequential gearbox would cost, but JUN's S14 5-speed gearbox for the SR20DET was labeled at around $5000 in one publication on its drag racing debut a few years ago. I don't know if this is a firm price so I can't be certain, but that is what the article review stated. Mike Kojima tried to get Quaife to make us a gearset for our gearboxes and the set was going to be $3,000 each for the initial run and subsequent sets would be even higher! Someone makes a sequential FWD box and I tried to come up with the name but couldn't. As I understand it, most of the touring car teams run the same box. It might be made by Quaife, but I'm not so sure. G-Forces 10-19-2001, 09:21 AM Originally posted by P10DET Someone makes a sequential FWD box and I tried to come up with the name but couldn't. Morpheus XIII 10-22-2001, 04:24 AM God bless X-trac. Gotta love the Toyota GT-One and other LMPs using X-tracs transmissions. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
