can anyone tell me : is it important to put silicone grease on the ends of spark plug wires whenever they are removed ? (from the spark plugs) the vehicle is a 1980 f-150 with a 351. thanks:rolleyes:

Permatex makes a "dielectric tune-up grease" in a small tube.
They also package it in a single use "ketchup tube" pouch.

It keeps the boots from sticking on the porcelin of the plug and keeps the connection from corroding.

It is good stuff. I use it on everything from auto light bulbs to battery posts.

Your answer is no.
It only helps for removing them and as wrench head said corroding. However it's best to change plug wire's every 35,000 anyway. If you change them as stated they'll never have the time to corrode.
By the way what is your 351?? modify,winsor or clevelin?? I too have a F-150 with a modified, I'm looking to find a clevelin.
