Hey all, this is my first post.

I drive a 93 accord LX, and since I bought it I've noticed there is a huge business in selling aftermarket parts for this car. Advertisments promise substantial gains in performance for a couple hundred bucks. I can see how it could get to be an expensive hobby really quick.

I like my accord, it's stylish, and sounds nice with a new stereo. Good for crusing in. It's also quick with the 5 speed. I've taken it for a few road trips and its been really reliable. It's got 140k, buts its really well maintained. Timing belt at 90k, 3k interval oil changes, clutch feels like its in good shape. The radiator cracked ($95 for a new one) because of a stuck cap, but thats the only problem its had in 15k miles.

Let's say I go ahead and buy a bunch of bolt ons for this 125hp 2.2 SOHC. Say I get a catback exhaust, header, polished intake, advance ignition timing, pullies, an maybe a sport clutch. Will I notice some more power, or will I just have a car thats loud and annoying but 5% faster?

From what I've read, a lot of people on the forum have these performance mods. Did it turn out the way you wanted and would you do it all again?

well, bolt-ons arent gonna give you gains that ebay sellers claim, but they will be noticeable. unfortunetly for me, i never got the chance to feel the difference totally because i added things one at a time. but i would definetly do it again if i had to start over. and about being loud, just get a quiet exhaust and keep your stock cat, and you should be fine.
