3.8 L Coolant leakBumpa2 12-29-2002, 06:17 PM My 95 Bonne with 3.8L uncharged engine (90 k miles) is consuming coolant. No external leaks (hoses, clamps, core plugs, water pump, radiator, heater or overflow tank). Coolant side pressure checked hot & cold OK. Coolant sniffed for exhaust; none detected. Here is the crux: the exhaust pipe drips GREEN LIQUID. Engine runs fine (for now). Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks Bumpa2 Shortbus 12-30-2002, 10:37 AM It's not going in the oil pan is it? Thats a weird one. Is your coolant the orange crap (dexcool) or green. How much coolant is it using? Bumpa2 12-30-2002, 07:57 PM I've used the green stuff since mile 1. No coolant in oil (drained and settled for separation). I read about several cases of coolant leaking into the intake via the upper intake manifold (black fiber or plastic) but I didn't think coolant actually circulated above the lower aluminum manifold. Shortbus 12-31-2002, 09:08 AM Yeah we do keep those upper intakes in stock, cause they crack a lot. I am pretty sure it has to do with coolant leaking. That would be a good place to look. Scott 02 01-29-2003, 11:18 AM How much are those by the way? Shortbus 01-29-2003, 11:28 AM The pn is 17113136 and they list at 295.00 If you buy em right on the internet you can get them for 200. Scott 02 01-29-2003, 11:46 AM Sound good. firehawkman 01-27-2004, 08:03 PM i have 2 of those intakes came off a 98 bonneville not sure of the interchange on them if you can use them ill deal with ya need to get them outta my garage vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
