Taking The Resonator Off

Just wondering if taking the resonator off my 1997 Grand Prix GT will give it more horsepower. Also by taking it off how much louder will the noise become out the tail pipes. Thats all for now. Need some answers and who have done this. Thanks Brandon Budd 01-06-2003, 08:22 PM you wont gain much, 1 or 2 hp, but it does make it flow better, if your gonna remove the resonater get the u-bend replaced to, its a basic mod that most everyone starts with cuz its cheap, can be done for like 50 at any muffler shop.
