Wondering if anyone has done the swap before. Please give specifics.

I haven't seen it done, but I know it is not easy. This swap is no slouch. It will require the aid of a mounting kit (try HCP, HASport, or Place Racing), which is not cheap (often like $500!), but you may still need more modifications to make it fit, like relocating some small components or even clearing the engine bay and refitting accessories around the engine when done. You may even need to modify cross members, reweld the mounts into new locations, etc.

Good luck mano.

This has become a common swap and can be done with no cutting or welding. You do need to buy a motor mount kit and there are some wiring mods that need to be done. Most everything you need you can get from HASport , check out there site you can even keep your AC.

Hello all,

I droped a b16 in my crx for 3 grand. That include labor and parts. A place called speed garage droped it in for me. They did a decent job. If I had a turbo in there I might have been able to smoke mustangs.
If you want to see my old car visit

I didn't feel like painting the kit on the CRX. I had no problems selling it like that.

I just picked up a 95 civic ex. It has bad front end damage. If anyone wants it i'll let it go for $2500.00
Great car if you know how to do engine and body work. If your in Southern California and your interested email me at jdmprimera@yahoo.com

Great car for parts or repair. Has less then 75k!

I don't think that the unpainted bodykit looks bad. I kinda like it.

Hmmmm.....I would do it yourself. You are going to pay alot to have a shop do it. My bother and I are swapping a b16 into my civic this weekend and I have helped on swaps before but never actually did one myself. So why not research it and see if you can do it yourself.:)

I'd love to do it myself, but I have next to 0 experience with performing any major task like that. Even if I had the equipment (which I don't) I'd be afraid to mess something up, and thats too much money to risk. But good luck to you in your swap, it seems like labor is about 1/2 of the total cost, so you defintely save alot of money, plus the gratification of a job well done. I hope to save enough soon to get it done, but I think I'm gonna do some miscelaneous things around the car first. Stuff like tie bars and probably jdm conversion if I'm gonna do the swap, cuz I need the hood clearance, right?

for the swap, the clutch would be one to fit my 90 si or for the y1 tranny? I need a new one, but I wasnt going to buy a really nice one cuz I plan to do the swap. But if it can stay, I'll invest in a nice ACT clutch.
