1984 Regal T Type79_MonteCarlo 12-15-2002, 07:13 PM There is a regal T type near here for cheap. I'm wondering how quick they are in the quarter, what are stock hp and torque numbers and is it worth it for me to sell the monte and to go into debt for it:) Amish_kid 12-15-2002, 07:47 PM hey im not too sure but isnt a regal t type and a grand national kinda the same thing if so man that would be a dream right there im pretty sure they ran about a 13 stock can easily get in 11's with slicks and few modifications specs are something like 260 hp and 340 ft/lbs of tourque 79_MonteCarlo 12-15-2002, 08:20 PM Yeah this one is kinda like a GN but it has no intercooler -The Stig- 12-15-2002, 08:39 PM Anything and everything you'd want to learn about the Grand National. http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/buick-grandnational/buick-grandnational.shtml But to answer your question... an 84 Grand National or Turbo Regal had an output of 200 bhp @ 4000 rpm, 300 ft-lb @ 2400 rpm. Which would roughly translate into a high 14/low 15 second Run. For an 1984, that was plenty quick. Cbass 12-16-2002, 09:51 AM T types are great cars, and they have tons of potential. With a simple rebuild you can be making 400hp, and seeing 12 second runs. DemonZX 12-16-2002, 09:55 AM i have a Turbo magazine where they rebuild all the hard parts, and coat them, and crap. It was the Killer Z's issue. Bigger turbo, intercooler, chip, nice exhaust, and a decent intake system. Nough Said! 79_MonteCarlo 12-16-2002, 11:22 AM Thanks fer the input guys. I'm in the process of getting an insurance quote on this thing to see if I can afford it. God I never thought I'd want to sell the monte for a six cylinder.:) Cbass 12-16-2002, 12:44 PM Well, they're not just any 6 cylinder, they're probably the best american car to come out of the 80s, aside from the C4. 79_MonteCarlo 12-16-2002, 02:42 PM Yeah, Thats why I'm looking at it. More power than my V8, better mileage and the car looks mint. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
