Blue "Lights" or Blue "Lens" Illegal???90Accordblk 12-13-2002, 11:45 PM Question: For anyone that knows the laws in most states: are blue lens or blue headlights illegal, a couple of my friends were pulled over and recieved warnings from the cops dealing with their lights, one even got his car impounded, and some didn't even get stopped. What is legal and what isn't? 91AcrdMan 12-14-2002, 02:18 AM what light housing are you talking about? like corners or neons or nozzle lights what? but in any case its illegal for cars to used blue or red... well save brake lights. those colors are reserved for emergency veh. wagsaccordsir 12-15-2002, 01:46 PM No blue or red.. Bottom line.. A blue lens during the day will not be a problem, but when its nightime, a blue lens emmits blue light, so it doesnt matter whether its a blue light or a blue lens.. Duatone 12-25-2002, 11:55 PM A blue lens during the day will not be a problem Doesnt matter day or night, excluding your brake lamps, you cannot have red or blue lights emitting on the exterior of your vehicle. this does include those stupid squiter l.e.d.'s and l.e.d. tire valves. its funny when you get pulled over foro ne of those, and you ask why you cant have them, and the cop replys, "because someone might mistake you for an emergency vehicle." HAHA. but yeah, and it depends on where you live too. some states could care less, buto thers give you tickets even if your headlights emit the lighest shade of blue, like those "cool blue" lights you can get at that really great auto store... i think its called... WalMart. kicker1_solo 12-26-2002, 06:52 PM add green to that list also, in my state you're not allowed to have red, blue, or green. Some fire trucks have green lights on the front, so no green. A cop told me that if you hold a white piece of paper up to any of your lights and if the paper turns any color besides white or a pale yellow (from aging headlights) then it's illegal. emerge 12-26-2002, 10:52 PM we had always been warned down here in georgia. then my friend told me that one of the local car clubs actually has a police officer as a member. she is a cop, who also happens to have an eclipse and love racing. so they got their hands on the big book of street and driving laws. apparently, there is no actual law prohibiting the bulbs. so the car club went out and put neon lights under all their cars. they used the right knowledge in a horribly wrong way ;[ vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
