I'm planning on swapping an s13-sr20det into my s14 240sx. I was just wondering, if I bought an s13-240sx with an sr20det already installed. Would that be much easier than starting from scratch? Would I need to change the intercooler piping, radiator, wire lengths and stuff like that? Also, would the exhast system from an s13 fit on an s14? Specificatlly, the turboback piping.

I'm thinking about buying an s13 with a sr20det instead of doing the swap because the s13 chassis can be parted out and may turn out to be much cheaper than just buying the engine, then gauges, exhaust, intercooler and what not. Just wondering what can and can't be swapped between the two cars.

depends though, sometiems its better to start from scratch, becasuse, if the install on the 89-94 240sx is crappy, then it harder..

so basically its better to start form a front cut, also theres more tech support from clip to 240sx than 240sx with sr to 240sx no sr.

Downpipe are same for SR20DET S13/S14

Exhaust System is different, i think s14 is the one thats longer..

Intercooler, just get the one same as your engine
i.e: S13 SR20DET Engine / S13 Size Intercooler
S14/S15 SR20DET Engine / S14 Size Intercooler

same with s13, except if you have a GReddy Intake manifold on the S13, then you would need the S14 Type Intercooler..


Wiring is always extended couple of feet.

Radiator Hoses on USA/Japan is different leights
Radiator Core on S13/S14 has different top mounting brackets.. easily adjusted to fit either way..
