Block differences?

Hi all

New to vw's.. but already id like to try my hand at getting more power :smoker:

in terms of engine blocks, minus intenals..

How does the "RD" engine block compare to the ""PG" one?
interms of build and power handling?

the "RD" is the 1.8 8v found in A2 gti's [105hp]
and the "PG" engine found its way in the 89-91 Corrado and
'92 Passat Synro.

In terms of heads? does the G60 head flow more than the Gti head?

What about the G60 rods? anyone have specs on them? as in dimensions?

i've heard the 16v cranks are the same as the G60 one.. looking to get a force fed A2 Jetta going :sun:

any help is appreciated!
Thanks
Bernard

I think the PG block is stronger, but I'm not sure.
The G60 rods are 136mm long and have a 22mm wrist pin. They can take everything.
The crank from a 16v PL/KR engine will fit the PG block.
As for heads, why not go with a 16v head, or a crossflow head?

Good luck.
