New Member with VIN Check Company Questionscollegecar 12-20-2007, 03:50 AM Hi Everyone, I just stumbled across your great site. I need some help from any member with the knowledge. I just purchased an '88 Bronco II online...I ran the VIN Check through AutoCheck and it came back as one owner(not including the dealer). It had the Shipped from Manufacturer Date and one or two Registrations and everything else checked out fine-no problems. The odometer is at 70K and this checked out in the report also. Basically, aside from that it looked like the previous owner bought it and took care of it. My question is, would a CarFax report be any more detailed and should I even bother? Thanks to all of y'all in advance:iceslolan Ray paulsen 12-20-2007, 04:31 AM Having appraised and bought thousand of vehicles through the years both Carfax and AutoCheck are valid and should be used as a guideline only as they are not perfect ,on many occassions they will differ in their report but overall about the same, without going into detail if I had just one choice it would be AutoCheck. so no need to waste your money. Not being a fan of buying a vehicle online and hearing more horror stories than pleasent ones I will be interested for you to post once you taken delivery of experience and satisfaction. sickcallawayc12 12-21-2007, 12:24 AM If you used one, definitely don't bother with the other. Just take it to a shop for a final check. Sounds like a good deal though. Good luck. collegecar 12-21-2007, 01:04 AM Having appraised and bought thousand of vehicles through the years both Carfax and AutoCheck are valid and should be used as a guideline only as they are not perfect ,on many occassions they will differ in their report but overall about the same, without going into detail if I had just one choice it would be AutoCheck. so no need to waste your money.
