I looked at the pics though. Do you have instructions anywhere that you're using for this. Most people lay down tin foil along the spare tire well and then lay down the fiberglass, did you do that? If I were doing it, I would lay the tin foil, lay the fiberglass a little bit thicker than needed, and then sand it smooth. kicker1_solo 12-08-2002, 11:46 PM hondacivic4drlx 12-19-2002, 04:41 PM no i put garbage bags down and then glassed over it. just to get the mold then i want to build a wood box for speakers and then maybe a zex bottle wheel1856 01-15-2003, 12:58 AM I dont get it...what are you guys doing here? making a fiberglass mold of the trunk? how's come? (im in the midst of doing some fiber glass homework) -wheel kicker1_solo 01-15-2003, 01:56 AM Originally posted by wheel1856 I dont get it...what are you guys doing here? making a fiberglass mold of the trunk? how's come? my guess would be to make a subwoofer box in the spare tire well hondacivic4drlx 01-15-2003, 08:37 AM yup:D , but just need the mdf rings and the subs. just wanted to get started early:cool: wheel1856 01-15-2003, 10:51 AM ok call me stupid, but I still dont get it. You make a mold of the trunk, from what the pics looked like, the same size and everything of the trunk, to make a box? Do you seal over the space for the spare and mount the speakers in that? facing up outa the box, or down into? Down into with a good seal would majorly increase your base. k thanks -wheel hondacivic4drlx 01-15-2003, 03:49 PM i might mount it in it, i think i might change it though, i need to glass more. im taking out my back seats and making a setup out of my whole rear end. BrokenLimits 01-20-2003, 08:02 PM I hope you have AAA....otherwise if you get a flat you are fawked.... hondacivic4drlx 01-22-2003, 10:09 AM they make this thing calle dfix a flat.:p you keep it in your glovebox and then use when need. it even comes with directions. :finger: :finger: :finger: kicker1_solo 01-22-2003, 10:23 AM Originally posted by wheel1856 ok call me stupid, but I still dont get it. watch closely :D http://images.cardomain.com/installs/7000-7999/7549_20.jpg http://images.cardomain.com/installs/7000-7999/7549_18.jpg http://images.cardomain.com/installs/7000-7999/7549_16.jpg http://images.cardomain.com/installs/7000-7999/7549_15.jpg http://images.cardomain.com/installs/7000-7999/7549_12.jpg http://images.cardomain.com/installs/7000-7999/7549_3.jpg http://images.cardomain.com/installs/7000-7999/7549_1.jpg It's like making a regular speaker box, except the sides and bottom are made out of fiberglass so that they fit the spare tire well's dimensions perfectly, taking up less space. :) markpa 01-22-2003, 05:22 PM Finally you have posted something usefull rather then those gay smilies kicker1_solo 01-23-2003, 09:16 PM :( wheel1856 01-23-2003, 09:27 PM aaaahhhh i see i see said the blind man. so the fiber glass (back of the box) plops into the spare bay, and seals it, MDF for the top (epoxi'd to the glass?) and pizow! wicked cool speaker box with no nasty wires, funny bolts, and all the other crap thats a mutha to hide. nifty. thanks. TerryJoe 02-05-2003, 12:21 AM ok i had a quick question. do u happen to bolt or screw the mdf board to the trunk floorin to add strengh insted of just fiberglassing it to the floor. just wondering because it seamed that the sound pressure level could pop the mdf off if it wasnt screwed or bolted down? if i am wrong corecte me please thx terryjoe hondacivic4drlx 02-05-2003, 03:04 PM screw, how would you get the nut on the other side tight? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
