Have you changed the O2 sensor? xeroinfinity 12-14-2007, 03:21 PM Also check if thier is any obstructions(blockage) in the rest of your exhaust system, like after the Converter . and Welcome to AF needagudeal. needagudeal 12-20-2007, 10:39 PM thanks for the quick response and the warm welcome. Still having trouble though. New O2 sensor and it seemed to work for a while as I was using this vehicle just for short trips (10 miles or less). I drove it for over an 1/2 an hour and I started noticing the same symptons again. But this time it is intermittent. I may get the redhot convertor and no power and as I'm driving I notice the power is back and the convertor cools down. I still experience the heavy knock that occurs when I punch the gas. I mean heavy. It feels like the transmission is going to come flying out from under my car. Anymore suggestions. Not worried about carparts cost, I get them very cheaply because of my job needagudeal xeroinfinity 12-21-2007, 09:11 AM The Converter was installed properly ? they are directional. I'd get it scanned for trouble codes. Even though you probly dont have any check engine lights on, thier's probly a DTC or two stored and may point to what's going on. Sounds like your dumping excess fuel into the cylinders then its burning in the exhaust. How many miles on this engine ?? TGomez032886 09-19-2008, 02:51 AM Just wondering if the problem was solved with the catatlytic converter and the overall staus of your vehicle. I am experiencing similar problems, when driving does the car kill and can you turn the heat/defrost on? xeroinfinity 09-19-2008, 08:27 AM TGomez032886 please look at the post dates before posting in outdated threads!
