Hi Guys
trying to help a friend with his 150. `97 4x4 regular cab with the 6 in it . 170,000 kms on it. Ran great. jumped in Sat turn the key no go. it turns over great .towed to Gm garage(only shop in area) checked the fuel pump it`s ok . but no power to it. run power direct from battery and away it goes . upon further investigation they find a blown fuse (I don`t know what fuse but assume it is related) Change the fuse it blows again. they have called ford and checked a couple or thre things ford said ........no dice it won`t go. The problem I`m guessing is a short that they can`t find. Has anyone come across this problem or have anyidea where to look? He just bought this thing 3 months ago and is disappointed to say the least. Said he may have to pull the old `94 back out of retirement and send this one packing. Thanks guys for any knowlegdeable input

There must be a bare wire somewhere i would assume on the underside of the pickup where the power to the fuel pump would run alongside of the frame rail. Start at the back and work your way forward and look for anything unusual. It would be the power lead to the pump look there for your first place to go.
