C6 305, HA I don't think so!shadytree101 12-07-2007, 09:54 AM My father was telling me about this new Corvette he saw down at a store, and he said something that I just couldn't believe. So, I am here to see who is right. I am pretty sure he is talking about the new Vette. He said that when he walked by it that it had an emblem that said S6 305, and swears by it. I told him I had never heard of any S6 Vettes and that it probrably said C6 Z06. Now, Im not much of a Vette enthusiast, but I am pretty sure they wouldn't have put a 305 in the new ones. I looked it up and found out that the new ones come with LS3's and LS7's. I found out that the LS7 is a 427, but I couldn't find the c.i. of the LS3. Could anyone tell me what the c.i. is of the LS3 so I can put this arguement to a rest? MrPbody 12-07-2007, 01:44 PM Well, I know for sure, there was never a factory Corvette with 305. LS7 is actually 426 CID, but Chevy added the "427" moniker to attract people to the old-time L-88s. Funny part, LS7 has a bore of 4 1/8" and a stroke of 4". That's the same as the old 428 Pontiac and VERY close to the old Ford 428. I believe LS3 is the 5.4 lr. version. One local is very proud of his new Monte with that engine. He keeps telling people it's a 327... It's a 323, but it bears ZERO resemblance to the old small block. The 400 HP LS2 is also available for certain years, and LS1 was the first in '97. FWIW Jim shadytree101 12-07-2007, 07:24 PM Well I am just talking about the newest Vette. I believe the new LS7 is a 7.0L and the new LS3 is a 6.2L. cbec1999 12-19-2007, 07:29 PM 305 rubber on the back corners. 16th hippy 12-20-2007, 07:23 AM the standard c6 vettes come with a 6.0L engine...so would be somewhere around a 362 CI...roughly speaking. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
