I'm going for it. Already got the quotations, got the electrician and the alteration person. they have planned out how they will install the engine and the tranny, the electrician is ready for the completion and starting the engine also. They are dong a guaranteed work.

BTW, my current engine is lame, it was a daily drive car until I bought a new Toyota, so this car has to get a power upgrade and I thought what would be better than a Honda? I have found a B18B engine but after reading the engine swap guide, it has 142 HP and since I will be getting a used one, it will be even less, I wouldn't go for it then. i have B16A2 or A3 in mind. I m heading out tomorrow to look for one, I already got a quotation from the shop which was selling the B18B, but will look first for myself.

I will try to take pix before, during, and after the swap to share.

You guys know anyone who has done it?

I'm just curious why you wouldn't swap in an SHO motor. The SHO has more power, will cost less in the long run, and will just about drop right in.

There are several SHO motors on Ebay right now ranging in price from $300 to $700. These motors produce 220 HP in stock form and there are several aftermarket parts to bump the HP up even more. That's cheap and easy horsepower!

I know some people like to swap motors from different manufacturers into their cars just to be different, but since you're paying someone else to do this swap, you're just throwing you're money away. Do some research on the SHO motor, the swap labor alone will cost less and you will instantly have the power of a highly modified N/A B-series at 1/10 the cost.

If you absolutely have to do a Honda swap, look for an H22 or H23. These motors produce around 200 HP and there is tons of aftermarket support.

Oh sorry I din't tell where I'm from. Middle East. I'm living here, honda parts are plenty here and Ford, well anything for these r RARE to find. that's why just want to change the whole under hood to a Honda, and I researched on that SHO engine and it would cost me more. I would check the H22 though since we got a lot of lude's around. thnx for the tip!

I say go for it...

It's always good to see what you can do that's different.

Personally, when I had my escort, I went for the SHO V8 swap... we never finished it tho.. that would been a badass ride.

If you were looking for an easy ford swap, the V6 will fit, but it won't "drop right in" as is said.. it requires extensive mods.. but if you're having a shop do it anyway, there is no problem, they'll be used to the kind of work that it takes.
