OMG as i was goin to apply for this job early morining and as soon as i park alot of smoke starts coming out of the vents and under the hood'.I prayed so much that my car would turn back on once i was done with the interview and it did. I didnt open the hood until i got home and when i did i saw that the smoke was coming from somewhere above the spark plugs? i saw what seems to be like oil around that area but didnt notice anything ripped or broken and there was just too much smoke coming out. i checked the pan stick and there was no oil sign. i have no idea wats going on with my car guys plzzz help me I have a pontiac grandam gt 1994 3.1 engine plzz help me it the only car ive got any suggestions on what i should do??or what wrong with my car? and one more thing i think this is important when i was driving to the job the car would shake and it felt like my car engine wanted to come out the car but then it when away from time to time but came back after a while. i havnt had a tune up since i got the car about a year ago and i was ready to give it an oil change 2morrow'..

Yes, fill it to the full mark. The total system capacity should be 4.25-4.5 Qts. It sounds like you may have run it completely dry. The oil leak is probably above the exhaust, but could be several things. You'll need to look and see what's leaking. If I were to GUESS, I'd say it's the oil pressure sensor.

If it were an oil pressure sensor , I would think it would only blow it forward toward the radiator, and down. :dunno:

Sounds like a valve cover gasket or maybe you've blown a head gasket.
Running it dry will sure make it run like poop and can damage your engines bearing and your head gaskets.... :yikes:

I'd try and clean up as much of the oil as possible with some engine degreeser. Then run the engine and try and find why it is leaking exactly.. after you top off the oil.

Good Luck queenzauto

Also the front and rear main seals are prone to blow oil when they are leaking. This would drip around the ends of the engine block.

Edit >>
I was just thinking..
if smoke was only coming from your vents, and it smells sweet,
then I'd say your heater core has a leak.
Check your coolant level just in case!

i saw smoke coming out of those areas where the x's are
this is when i did not turn the car on yet. but when i turn it on it took 10 seconds to turn on after i put oil and antifreeze. so then i shut it off then theres when i saw smoke coming out of those x-marked spots i could have not really see where it came from but heres and idea. and the oil around that area look and felt like it was there for a while unless it cought alot of dust from the smoke when it starting leeking. pleease help me find the problem and the solution. here are some pictures that can show you what iam talking about.

I have answered your questions the best we could from what you've provided in this post and your duplicates you posted.

Hard to tell from that pic....
Looks like the back side, purge valve power steering line....
And it appears to have oil in those area's......

So what exactly are you asking ??

Does the car run properly ?
Have you overheated it or does it get hot ?
Did you not have enough anti freeze in the cooling system ??

Does it use/loose lots of oil or coolant , power steering fluid, trans fluid ?

That is oil or power steering fluid on the back side of the engine.
I'd say that is the problem, you have a leak somewhere,, that you'll need to figure out and fix before it catches on fire. Could just be a valve cover gasket leaking, could ba a head gasket... :dunno:

Good Hunting.

Edit > I forgot to answer your why is smoke coming in..
It is likly that your heater has sucked in the smell/smoke from the larger grill(cowl) under the wipers, that is where the heater draws in the air.

In this pic that long gasket seals the under hood gases from your cowl, if tis not sealing fumes will come into the cabin area when the heater fans on.
