I need helpLOUDCRXSi 12-03-2007, 12:14 PM i have a d16z6 in my CRX. a couple weeks ago i was at a red light on my way to work. when the light turned green and i started to drive my car stalled on me. i knew it wasnt me but i tried to start it twice. i've had 3 different people look at it and i've talked to numerous people. everyone i've talked to said its either my distributor or just the ignition coil due to the fact that im not getting spark and its not the timing belt. when i take the distributor cap off the rotator spins. so i went ahead and replaced the distributor. thats when everything went to shit. the mechanic that did the swap for me......for some unknown reason wired the Z6 with the wire harness from my Stock engine which was the D16a6. i found out that he somehow rigged it so that he used the distributor for my A6 which the holes didnt match up but he got it to stay in place. so by this time i already have the new distributor. and when i tried to hook it up the first time the connectors do not match up. so i checked all the wires and spliced them seeing how they all matched. the first time i hooked it up i thought i had it at TDC but i was 180 degrees off. and i was getting a faint yellow spark instead of the normal blue spark. then i found top dead center and my car still will not start, and i have not checked the spark. when i first put the distributor on and could not get it to start i let me car sit for about a week since i didnt have any time to mess with it since i had to work and last night when i tried to work on it again the battery is DEAD. I tried hooking a battery charger on it but after 30 seconds it says the battery is charged. but when i try to turn on my car it wont turn over and all the lights for my guages dim out almost completly off. Im off all day tomorrow and want to try and get this fixed. if not im taking it to a shop. i know i wrote a lot but i figured i'd give it all to you (well most of it) that some of you might be able to rule out some things. i know its hard to diagnost the problem over the internet but since i have all day tomorrow to work on it id like to get some ideas so i can try and fix it myself. thanks. maxassassin 12-03-2007, 06:33 PM well for one a a6 dizzy will fit a z6 head with 2 of its 3 bolts. secondly youd have to make a conversion plug. ive seen a right up on it. you basicly take a plug that plugs into your wiring harness and then get a new plug for your dizzy and then jsut run wires that way. as for what wire is what check a wireing schematic. i think chiltons should cover it up for 95. CivicSpoon 12-03-2007, 08:16 PM I stole this image from, I believe, Honda-tech.com http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/CivicSpoon/88-91to92-95distributor.jpg LOUDCRXSi 12-06-2007, 12:54 PM ok so im assuming i was correct that the wires do match up from the A6 wire harness to the wires on the Z6 dizzy??? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
